Bentonville is a small southern town that did not historically house plantations or other stereotypical structures or architecture. Its history ranges from a hunting ground for the Osage Nation, farmland for white settlers, and a large apple industry to its current renown as a popular mountain biking destination. Southern Living magazine has dubbed Bentonville a new hub for the arts and outdoors. The Crystal Bridges Art Museum, the Museum of the Native American and Devils Den and Osage Park lend cultural and environmental references. Most famously, Bentonville is the corporate home of Walmart, which draws satellite offices and employees of many international businesses and has helped spawn the city’s burgeoning restaurant scene. Understated, earthy materials with an element of sophistication drive the design as a response to these varying facets of the city and its inhabitants
